About Tamima

Werner Foundation was not created from theory — it was created from lived experience.

I know what it means to build a life across countries and cultures.
My journey has taken me from Zimbabwe, to New Zealand, and now Australia, carrying pieces of each place while never fully belonging to just one. Migration can open doors, but it can also bring loneliness, identity shifts, and the quiet feeling of living between two worlds.

From the outside, it often looks like strength.
On the inside, it can feel heavy, confusing, and deeply tiring.

My story is also shaped by early pregnancy loss and the reality of being a loss mother — loving a child you cannot hold, while the world keeps moving as if nothing happened.
In many of our cultures, this kind of grief is hidden. We stay strong, we stay silent, and we carry the pain alone. But silence does not heal. Being seen does.

This is what led me to counselling.

I created Werner Foundation to be the kind of space many of us never had —
a space that feels safe, real, culturally aware, and free from judgement.
A space where you don’t have to explain your background just to be understood.
A space where grief, depression, migration, faith, identity, and exhaustion can all be spoken about honestly.

My approach is gentle, grounded, and human.
I don’t believe in pretending pain isn’t there.
I believe in sitting with people inside it — and helping them slowly find strength, dignity, and hope again.

While my journey is shaped by migration and loss, this space is open to everyone — across culture, faith, and background.
Because at the core of it all, we are simply people trying to survive hard things and find our way forward.

If you are carrying more than anyone can see,
you are welcome here.

You don’t have to carry it alone.

About Werner Foundation

Werner Foundation: Counselling, Care & Confidence was established to provide a safe, supportive space for individuals carrying experiences that are often held quietly — particularly those navigating life away from the place they once called home.

For many migrants, resilience is expected. There is a need to adapt, to persevere, and to rebuild — often without acknowledgement of the emotional impact that can accompany this transition. Feelings of loneliness, grief, identity loss, and disconnection may remain unspoken, as individuals seek to protect their families, cultural values, and sense of dignity. Over time, this silence can become increasingly difficult to carry.

Werner Foundation exists to create space for these experiences to be acknowledged and explored with care.

This is a counselling environment where your full story is welcomed — including your cultural background, personal values, faith, questions, and life experiences. You are not required to minimise your challenges or present as strong. Instead, you are met with compassion, respect, and a culturally informed understanding.

A key focus of this work is supporting individuals through early pregnancy loss — a deeply significant experience that is often minimised or unspoken across many communities. Many mothers carry this grief in isolation, without validation or space to process their loss. At Werner Foundation, this experience is approached with sensitivity and dignity. Your loss, your grief, and your story are acknowledged as meaningful and valid.

Support is also offered across a range of areas, including depression, emotional overwhelm, migrant-related grief, identity transitions, and rebuilding confidence following significant life changes. Whether you are adjusting to a new environment, processing personal loss, or seeking a clearer sense of self, counselling is delivered in a way that is thoughtful, grounded, and responsive to your individual pace.

Werner Foundation is intentionally inclusive, welcoming individuals from all cultural backgrounds, belief systems, and life experiences. While the service is informed by migrant perspectives, it is open to anyone seeking compassionate, culturally aware support.

At its core, Werner Foundation is grounded in three principles:
•Counselling that listens deeply
•Care that honours your story
•Confidence that supports new beginnings

You do not have to navigate this alone .
